It was very sad and the barber kept thinking on this incident all the time. Whoever comes to his shop for cutting and shaving, he told അയ്യോ എന്റെ ആട്, അയ്യോ എന്റെ ആട്. and people enquire about the incident. He told everyone the story and wept.

One day the thief also came to his shop for shaving. The barber again told അയ്യോ എന്റെ ആട്. Immedeatley he jumped from the hot seat and cried that, അയ്യോ!! എന്നെ കൊല്ലല്ലേ!! തെറ്റ് പറ്റി !! മാപ്പാക്കണം!!.

The barber was not aware that who stole his goat, and the theif also believed that, no one knew about the theft. But, it was his മനസാക്ഷി, which disclosed the truth to the barber. Everyone of us thinks that, our activity is evidenceless, but, this is what the old puranas mean by ചിത്ര ഗുപ്തന്‍. Means, വിചിത്രമായി ഒളിച്ച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്‍.
